In this new and innovative engineering role within North America you will experience three different job assignments of 8-months within Dow Coatings Operations, most likely at two different US Geographies/States.

You will take on challenging projects and learn best practices and processes through which you will acquire business-critical competencies. You will collaborate with people from various backgrounds to create innovative solutions for tomorrow's challenges. If you are a New College Graduate with a bachelor or master's degree in engineering, then this opportunity may be for you. Operations within Dow is comprised of some unique focus areas that translate business strategies into operations priorities and results. The focus areas are Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, Environmental, & Reliability.

Opportunities in Operations include a broad range of responsibilities in chemical plant safety and environmental performance, process operation, optimization, modification, maintenance, and technology implementation. The candidate will participate in a 2-Year (24-month) Rotational experience in the coatings business. It begins with a 8-month rotational assignment at one of our primary coating facilities (Bristol/Croydon, Kankakee, or Knoxville). The 2nd rotation will relocate the employee to a different U.S. coatings facility. The 3rd rotational assignment will return the employee to their initial Coatings location for an 8-month period.

Based on business needs, there is the possibility that the rotational candidate may be consulted on a 4th rotational assignment or permanent engineering role at a coatings facility based on needs of the coatings business. These rotational sequences could change slightly based on the needs and priorities within the business and would be discussed with the candidates as they arise.

Primary Responsibilities:

Chemical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer

(Key Roles: Production or Improvement Engineer)

You will fill one of several technical resource roles where you will provide technical support to plant operating personnel in order to maintain the safe, reliable, and efficient operations.   Key responsibilities may include such items as manufacturing process troubleshooting and problem solving, preventive maintenance, yield and process improvements, waste reduction, safety enhancements, process control, cost optimization, project management and implementation, equipment design, and new technology implementation.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Mater's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 with a preferred GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) at your current University.
  • A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this job, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
