Nephrology Practice Solutions (NPS) is a growing strategic business unit within DaVita that provides business solutions to physician practices, and leads the Village's physician employment and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) strategy. As NPS seeks to grow and become the leading national nephrology group in the country, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, operationally focused and results-driven (Senior) Director of Operations to join our team.
The Practice Operations Coordinator is a non-exempt position responsible for coordinating the workflow and performing essential duties to ensure effective, efficient functioning of the front and back office of a nephrology practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
20% - Manage front-end business office functions including but not limited:
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service
Complete charge entry and resolve claim holds within stated time frames
Collect and manage co-pays and outstanding patient balances at the time of service
Identify insurance companies to contract with and assist with physician and other provider licensing and credentialing with hospitals, dialysis units and insurance companies
20% - Manage front desk administrative tasks including but not limited to:
Answer phones knowledgeably and in a timely manner with professional courtesy
Order office and medical supplies; receive and process invoices
Monitor and maintain physicians' schedules and expense reports
15% - Support clinical functions, as necessary, in collaboration with the Medical
Assistants, for tasks including but not limited to:

Prepare and maintain patient medical charts on daily basis (includes filing dictation, lab results, etc.) in collaboration with Medical Assistants
Fax / call in prescriptions within established time frames
Fax lab results, dictation and referrals within specified time frames
Schedule diagnostic visits in timely manner
10% - Help establish, promote, and maintain DaVita values with office teammates, vendors, physicians
5% - Follow organizational guidelines regarding the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
5% - Know and understand all emergency procedures for clinic (including but not limited to evacuation, fire, natural disasters); be prepared to respond calmly and efficiently with patient safety as priority
5% - Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent; some college or medical coursework/training preferred
2 or more years of healthcare practice experience preferred
2 or more years of medical billing experience preferred
Medical Assistant Certification not required but preferred
CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of beginning work
Intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills (including but not limited to Word, Excel or similar program)
