Position Overview

The Toys, Juvenile Products and Media Entertainment team at NPD works with some of the most exciting companies in the industry. This team is currently seeking an Account Specialist who will be responsible for analysis, presenting, managing and growing the relationship between NPD and its key clients, with a focus on the Juvenile Products industry.. In this role, you will build strong client relationships and provide actionable, value-added insights.

This position will be based in Port Washington, NY and will report to the Director, Client Development.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall client satisfaction by proactively relating NPD data and industry trends to business opportunities
  • Strengthen the partnership by delivering value-added analysis within the practice area.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver concise, actionable presentations to clients quarterly, annually, and/or as a value-add.
  • Manage the delivery of industry insights summaries.
  • Build industry knowledge through active research and proactive insight delivery
  • Assist in growing revenue with the client by recognizing and exploring opportunities at the client for additional services or projects.
  • Provide day-to-day tactical support utilizing market research data, data portal training, answering FAQs, preparing data insights and presentations, email and meeting follow up
  • Expand the cross-functional relationships to include a broader mix of end users
  • Collaborate with team members regularly and communicate effectively and frequently
  • Increase client engagement through delivery of consumer, business, and market insights, leveraging the full suite of NPD data sets and analytical capabilities

Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of experience within data analysis, client services and account management
  • Strong analytical skills and writing ability - able to distill diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories, proposals, presentations, and emails
  • Ability to synthesize data and develop meaningful conclusions/insights using several data resources
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities against pressing deadlines; strong organizational and project management skills
  • Expert in all MS Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, & Word with knowledge of, or the ability to learn, intermediate Excel skills such as creation of Pivot tables and Pivot reporting
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Juvenile Products experienced desired, Media and Toys and/or licensing industry knowledge a plus
  • Ability to travel (typically < 15%)

Communication
The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD's products and services or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

Relationships
The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.
