Summary:

The Plant Accountant role offers the opportunity to join Tyson Food's Poultry finance team supporting the Vienna location. Under direction of the Complex Controller, this position manages a team of hourly and salaried non-exempt individual contributors. This individual will possess a high-level ability to make time-sensitive decisions, manage multiple competing priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating accounting functions and systems established to provide Tyson Fresh Poultry management timely and accurate information while ensuring strong controls are in place to comply with GAAP and Tyson accounting practices/policies.

Responsibilities:

This role will include analysis and review of expenditures, yields, variances; Forecasting future performance; Strategic direction and opportunity analysis; Review and maintain appropriate accounting controls at the facility; a thorough understanding of the transfer pricing policies and practices; knowledge and oversight of all aspects of the product costing and pricing models; capital project management; attendance and active participation at all weekly review and strategy meetings. Must solve problems, delegate, collaborate and work well under pressure. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience: 1+ year of similar experience in a manufacturing environment.

Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office apps. SAP experience will be a plus. Strong Excel skills preferred.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Special Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment; using good judgement to complete tasks; ability to set priorities and coordinate with others.

Supervisory: Responsible for management support Team Members

Travel: Minimal.
