Azenta is searching for an Accounting Manager with a specialization in project cost accounting. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to oversee and manage project-related financial activities, ensuring accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of project costs.

What You'll Do...

  • Lead and oversee project cost accounting processes, including tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to establish project budgets and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project costs and variances, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and present project cost reports, financial analyses, and budget updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Lead / coordinate with costing team on standard rate changes.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, review balance sheet accounts, perform/review account reconciliation and provide commentary on balance changes.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial matters, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accuracy and integrity of project cost data.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial matters, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accuracy and integrity of project cost data.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
What you will Bring...
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project cost accounting or related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle and NetSuite).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with project teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions/ Schedule
  • Typical office environment with hybrid work options
  • May be asked to travel occasionally (anticipated to be around 10%)
