GHD has an exciting opportunity in Southern California for an Transportation Planning Practice Builder. We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic future leader to help drive our California Transportation Planning Practice. This position will be located in Southern California.

Working with our Transportation Group, this position offers a good variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Positioning us technically and obtaining market recognition
• Transportation planning focused on complete streets, corridor improvement studies, active transportation and transit, multimodal safety, sustainable transportation, and safe routes to school
• Oversight and management of complex planning projects which include investigation, analyses, and preparation of public-facing documents and other client deliverables
• Mentoring and guiding technical leads and staff within the practice and drive innovation and excellence
• Project management including but not limited to client engagement, work planning and budget monitoring
• Creating and/or contributing to deliverables including proposals, reports, and presentations

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to lead a team of planners with a track record of increased responsibility in the planning and preliminary concept development associated with all facets of transportation planning. Our planners work hand in hand with our engineers, landscape architects, and digital analysts to develop plans that are implementable and meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the transportation planning and conceptual design field, and a strong belief that all modes of transportation are integral to our transportation system.

The Transportation Planning practice at GHD is an important component of the Transportation Group. This position will add a Southern California presence for planning, joining our established transportation engineering/design practice in the region. The successful candidate will work to increase GHD's contribution to the field by winning and delivering quality projects, recruiting and training staff, and being a leader in relevant professional organizations.

The ideal candidate would possess the following experience:

• Experience leading a team of planners over a wide variety of planning studies that include but not limited to complete streets, active transportation projects, community based transportation plans and corridor studies
• Track record of satisfied clients and adopted plans and studies
• Experience overseeing, developing and leading community engagement activities
• Experience with unique project approaches to meet client needs

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in City/Regional Planning or equivalent
• At least 10 years transportation planning experience

Salary range: $96,600.00 - $144,900.00
