Job Summary/Basic Function:

If so, the Honors College at Boise State University, located in the heart of downtown Boise, Idaho wants to meet you. The Honors College is home to 1,200 students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. Through our coursework and co-curricular programming, we support students in cultivating ambition, humility, and wisdom toward excellence in mind, character, and community. The Honors College Activities Coordinator will develop, implement, and evaluate co-curricular events along with educational activities that promote a sense of community among Honors students. This person will advise Honors student organizations and create opportunities for student leadership and service throughout the Honors College. This position will also assist in the promotion of the Honors College to the campus and into the surrounding community through recruitment and community involvement.

Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

Student Engagement 45%
• Design, implement, and evaluate co-curricular program and experiential education field trips that include social, community service, multicultural, academic, and professional development programs.

Leadership Development 25%
• Train, advise, and evaluate Honors College Community Service Board
• Train, advise, and evaluate Honors College House Council Board
• Mentor current students (personal, academic, and professional)

Administration 30%
• Assist with department and community recruitment events
• Assist in Orientation and Welcome Programs for Honors students
• Assist in reviewing student applications
• Assist in logistics of large scale Honors College events including the Welcome Program, Distinguished Lecture Series, recruitment events, collaborative programs with departments from across campus, and hybrid courses
• Serve as an Academic Advisor for Honors students
• Manage annual student satisfaction surveys regarding Honors College
• Serve as liaison between Honors College and various university committees and departments
• Advise, train, and evaluate student leaders and volunteers

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to work independently and use reference manuals to develop proficiency with software or computer systems.
• Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills in the preparation and presentation of results.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Able to effectively prioritize and work on multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines and demonstrate excellent time management skills and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience creating, implementing, and evaluating programming for college students or similar populations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate Degree in Higher Education, Adult Organization and Leadership, Recreation, or other related field
• 1-3 years professional experience in Student Activities, Housing, Recreation, or other related field
• Experience working with Honors students in a higher education setting
• Experience advising student leaders and/or organizations
Salary and Benefits:
Salary $40,851-$46,654; commensurate with experience.
