Description

This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid work model which includes remote work and 4-10 days in office per month.

The Actuarial Analyst assists in the determination of rates. Analyzes, develops and validates statistical data.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Under limited supervision, applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.
  
• Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the division.
  
• Support the month-end close process and ensure the accuracy of booked IBNR reserves.
  
• Prepare and coordinate month-end financial reporting.
  
• Provide support and analysis for internal and external audit requests, including the annual audit.
  
• Produce quarterly reporting, including statutory and GAAP information.
  
• Assist with actuarial opinion and actuarial memoranda work annual monthly reserving, reserve results reporting to business leadership and quarterly reporting.
  
• Calculates monthly claims liability reserves, develops merit rating factors and prepares Department of Insurance annual statement exhibits.
  

Minimum Requirements :

Requires a BA/BS degree and to have passed a minimum of one Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exam; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• SQL experience is preferred
  
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Excel
  

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $59,840 to $107,712.

Locations: California; Colorado; Nevada; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY and Westchester County, NY
