Job Summary
Oversees and participated in enrty, audits, and verification of information with multiple national, regional, state, and local law enforcement and criminal justice systems and databases. Maintain user access. Conducts employment background checkd provide technical operational updates and on going training. Keeps the university in compliance with stater law and regulations regarding Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC).

Responsibilities

    Receives and responds to incoming calls and radio messages Provides direction and guidance to callers Maintains daily log of all activities reported to the department Dispatches Campus Police personnel to handle calls for services Monitors, records, and downloads video footage on video surveillance system Utilizes the University's computer-based access control system to assist officers with opening and securing doors Utilizes the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database to assist police officers in the performance of their duties Maintains, sorts, and files reports Maintains a clean and efficient office Assists with University details and special events Must Train all Department of Public Safety personnel on GCIC and State of Georgia Requirements Performs validations and GCIC hit confirmations Point of contact for Computer Aided Dispatch and reporting systems May perform other job related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
    Excellent ablility to multitask Excellent oral and written communications Excellent ability to remain calm during emergency situations Experience in database entry and maintenance English usage (spelling, grammar and punctuation) Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations related to the use of criminal justice computer systems, dissemination of information and security and privacy requirements High school diploma or GED required Possession of or ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification Ability to obtain Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) certification within one year Ability to obtain GA Communications Officer Certification within one year

  • Emergency Medical Dispatch Certified
  • GA Communications Officer Certified
  • TAC Certified

Proposed Salary
$35,000 - $40,000 Annually

    Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures Knowledge of GCIC and NCIC regulations Knowledge of procedures and practices of criminal justice computer systems, including NCIC, NIBRS and policies Must be able to multitask Skill in analyzing and responding to situations quickly Skill in oral and written communications Skill in remaining calm during emergency situations Skill in utilizing good judgment. Procedures and practices of criminal justice computer systems, including NCIC, NIBRS and policies Principles and practices of record keeping Principles and practices of database entry and maintenance Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations related to the use of criminal justice computer systems, dissemination of information and security and privacy requirements
