Job Summary

The administrative assistant provides support to the faculty, staff, and students of the academic departments in the School of Nursing.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Provide course assistance.

• Maintain website directory.

• Process student documentation for clinical site access.

• Arrange travel for faculty.

• Prepare, format and edit posters, curriculum vitae, presentations, and reports.

• Support event planning for department activities.

• Provide computer software and office equipment support to faculty.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two years of administrative experience.

Knowledge of computers with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office, including detailed application of calendaring, e-mail, database, spreadsheet, desktop publishing programs, and web browsing. Knowledge of web/internet based applications. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Strong time management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Works well under pressure and maintains confidentiality according to FERPA/HIPAA guidelines. Teamwork and cooperation with others. Professional and courteous attitude. Highly flexible. Ability to work for several people and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

College/university setting, supervisory, and project management experience. Knowledge of University Administrative Information Systems (travel, ordering, bill paying, time keeping, student information lookups, and data extraction). Ability to work independently with little instruction or supervision.
