Responsibilities

This position is responsible for all clerical functions associated with the processing of patients services from the Department of Radiology. Serves as Administrative Assistant Support for all sections of the department and as such, performs the following functions:

1. Greets patients in a friendly, customer service fashion.

2. Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing the department's Radiology Information System,

Including but not limited to EPIC, IT-PACS, and Nucleus. Utilizes information systems correctly to perform job description.

3. Interacts with and coordinates service with other institutional services. (Admissions, Outpatient Registration, Emergency Department, etc).

4. Directs patients to the appropriate waiting area for prompt service. Announces the arrival of scheduled patients by contacting each section in order to inform the Lead Technologist, or designee, of same.

5. Answers telephones in a courteous and timely manner according to hospital standards. Promptly responds to, expedites and directs all inquiries in a timely fashion. Takes and delivers messages as needed.

6. Assists with scheduling patient for outpatient Radiology exams as needed.

7. Maintains confidentiality of workplace information according to policies and procedures.

8. Complies with hospital and departmental Personnel policies and procedures.

9. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities:

Must have excellent sensory skills, i.e. eyesight, hearing and speech. Excellent communications skills are essential. Demonstrated computer skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work as a contributing member of a highly functioning, cooperative and efficient team. Must, at all times, demonstrate skills in delivering excellent customer service. Bilingual skills (Spanish) highly preferred.

Training & Education:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

Preferred: Minimum two (2) years' work experience with at least one (1) year in a health care environment
