SUMMARY

Coordinates the airline ground operation activities including but not limited to airport operations, aircraft handling, and Ground Service Equipment (GSE) maintenance. Supervises directs and coordinates activities within the system operations that obtain optimum use of the company’s equipment, facilities, and personnel. Oversight of the company’s ongoing system operations to ensure all aircraft movements, airport activity, ramp handling, loading /unloading of aircraft meet all company and government requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist the operations managers’ regional and ground with airport authorities, handling agents and various airport vendors and airport stakeholders

• Perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of the operations department. Provide a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers.

• Monitor and/or conduct required training of stations and ground handling personnel.

• Monitor and evaluate performance of ground operations activity

• Responsible for achieving all ground operations procedures goals regarding performance, safety, service, and regulatory compliance.

• Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations at system-wide airports. (Regulatory agencies).

• Assist in the coordination of ground operations procedures that would enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency at all domestic and international stations.

• Analyze flight schedules planned and actual, and assist with trends and other factors that might affect on-time performance, ground times, and overall operational workloads; Assist in providing the most efficient, and economical coverage at any one station in adherence with department/ company policies to meet expected operational demands.

• Proactive in anticipating problems and initiates actions to solve issues regarding station operations procedural matters.

• Coordinate all projects and assigned work by outside vendors.

• Maintain and protect the proper use of all company property.

• Coordinate site visits, audits and station inspections to include all aspects of ground operations including cargo builds, special loads, company equipment, and below-the-line services, etc. as applicable to the station operations.

• Recognizes opportunities to control costs and supports corporate initiatives accordingly to include the overall station budget and finances with specialization in cost control.

• Report if procedural changes are required/needed and assist said implementation to the company’s Cargo Operations Manual or any other related manual.

• Ensures procedures and guidelines are established for carrier’s Ground Operations, ground handling, ground training, and ground services.

• Ensure compliance with established company safety policies and procedures.

• Provide prompt response to service requests.

• Prepare daily shift reports, statistics, operational issues, station status, and ensure all required reports are completed and submitted in a timely fashion.

• Ensure proper training and paperwork completion for all new stations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of applicable FAA, TSA, and CBP regulations including standard security programs.

Knowledge of IATA ground handling procedures.

Knowledge of safety audits for ground operations.

Knowledge of ground handling key performance indicators (KPI's)

Knowledge and/or certification of hazardous materials handling.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Must have the ability to communicate both oral and written in a professional manner.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have maintained a safe driving record.

Travel:

• This position may require traveling to domestic or international locations.
