The Digital Shelf Analyst role sits on the Search & insights team which support brands in improving digital shelf visibility across on-site search & browse on eRetail websites. This role will lead the tactical work of analyzing consumer search behavior and performance trends to provide copy optimizations and asset recommendations to brand teams with the goal of providing a best-in-class Product Detail Page (PDP) experience to consumers. This individual will also support ongoing workstreams to support Digital Shelf visibility for Ulta.com, inclusive of iterative analysis of Share of Search & organic rankings, consumer sentiment, and Share of Voice placements on retailer landing pages. This individual will socialize retailer best practices to "best the algorithm" across Consumer Connections teams and partner with marketing teams and Acceleration Directors to develop and implement strategies to drive overall visibility.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

PDP Copy Optimizations

  • Conduct eRetail & Google keyword research to inform the optimization of eRetail PDP content to align with consumer search behavior
  • Optimize PDP Ulta.com Copy in PIM (Salsify) for new product launches and maintenance optimizations
  • Partner with brand teams to translate priorities to PDP optimizes and revise copy based on brand feedback.
Reporting & Analysis

  • Use Digital Shelf Platforms such as EDGE and Syndigo to track Share of Search and Enhanced Content performance. Socialize performance insights with brand and develop plan to further improve KPIs
  • Use Revuze & Consumer Loop to analyze consumer reviews and sentiment to adapt PDP content accordingly to highlight core benefits and address consumer concerns
  • Deliver quarterly Digital Shelf Dashboard report, inclusive of overall brand rankings, HERO SKU rankings, ratings & reviews, and enhanced content performance
  • Support Digital Acceleration Waves to audit PDP copy & asset opportunities for brand HERO SKUs. Algin with brand on SKUs, conduct audit, identify gaps, prepare copy optimization & social findings with brand teams
  • Analyze retailer-provided web analytics reports to identify trends in traffic and conversion rate metrics. Share findings and opportunities with brand teams.
Retailer Acceleration & Governance

  • Align with Ulta Acceleration Director (AD) to track share of search and homepage & event landing page share of voice for high priority events (Turkey 10, Mother's Day, etc.)
  • Develop PDP Playbooks by category. Gather and socialize data on Ulta retailer guidelines, algorithms, consumer and competitive insights and recommend optimization opportunities based on findings
  • Support acceleration of retailer specific projects related to Search & Browse visibility (Ad Hoc Web Analytics Reports, Ulta Store of the Future)
  • Manage catalog of 3rd party tracking & measurement tools. Ensure portfolio tracking, fix system errors, attend trainings, etc.
  • Develop strong partnership with retailer ADs, Brand BAMs, Search & Discoverability Leads, and marketing teams to align on brand strategy & priorities and win digital shelf visibility
Consumer, Competitive, and Landscape Insights

  • Identify and outline testing opportunities, align on content with stakeholders, create User Testing surveys, analyze and share findings with brand teams
  • Gather actionable insights by analyzing competitor content & visibility and category trends across search & browse landing pages

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • BS/BA degree required
  • Understanding of eCommerce and high-volume online retail businesses
  • Knowledge of Digital Shelf & SEO tool stack: EDGE, Syndigo, BrightEdge, Google Keyword Planner, Rival IQ, Revuze, User Testing,
  • Experience of working with Salsify and PIM/DAM solutions
  • Deep SEO and content tactics knowledge and SEO experience for Google, Amazon and Retail.com search engines
  • Ability to build successful relationships at all levels of the organization and cross-functionally with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Ability to effectively present information to an individual or group, both written and verbally
  • Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability and project management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
