We are currently seeking an AP/AR Specialist for our Upper Peninsula & Twin Cities sites, with the below qualifications:

Professional Attributes

• Responsible for daily operations of accounts payables, including AP invoice entry, payment processing and managing vendor inquires
• Responsible for daily operations of accounts receivable, including AR invoice entry, cash receipt processing, managing customer inquiries and proactive collection efforts
• Perform account reconciliations
• Manage daily cash flow reporting
• Accurately applying invoices, payments and cash receipts to correct general ledger accounts
• Regular communication/statements sent to customers, following up on payment status
• Setup and maintain vendor and customer information, in collaboration with the accounting team
• Daily mail collection/sorting and assisting in answering incoming calls
• Research and resolve discrepancies and get proper team members involved
• Escalate accounts to management, as necessary
• Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

• Associate degree in finance, accounting or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
• 3+ years of in-depth AP/AR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• High proficiency with MS Office - (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Experience with ERP Systems: IQMS and/or Epicor preferred
• Strong customer service skills
• Proficient in data entry and time management
• Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced every-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy of work performed
• Effective communication skills both verbally and written
• Ability to define problems, collect & process data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to deal with difficult vendor & customer situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
• Ability to work in multiple ERP systems, for multiple sister-sites
• Demonstrate good judgement in determining when to escalate accounts for follow up by management
• Reliability, dependability and strong motivation to respond to all requests quickly
• Ability to understand and follow work rules and procedures
• Ability to interact well with others and be a positive influence on employee morale throughout the organization
