Primary Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be an integral part of our growing accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform job duties that our ensure vendors get paid for services and products rendered for all of our locations. They review and process invoices, audit credit card bills and expense report spending, answer vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, process and maintain 1099 statements, and process and distribute checks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities would be data entry related; however, the role will also require strong analytical skills as well as the ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
- Utilizes professional accounting systems (for example: Netsuite/ERP/SAP)
- Responds in a timely manner to LeafFilter location inquiries
- Assists in resolving vendor payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls
- Participates in month end review to ensure all recurring expenses and receipts have been recorded in the current month and proper accounts
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Minimum Skills and Competencies:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 -5 years of proven work experience in an accounts payable capacity
- Experience using a financial software package
- Strong mathematical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience working in the construction industry
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
