Job Description

To provide technical vision and leadership for Application Architecture and Development and related initiatives; to evaluate and recommend solutions that support the overall application architecture vision; keep abreast of technology changes as they occur and modify the future directions as appropriate; to clearly communicate visions and solutions to both IT and Business Units; to assist applications staff in the implementation and use of software as in regards to application architecture and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide technical vision and leadership for the whole breadth of Applications Architecture and ensure solutions are evaluated; recommendations are made that are supportive of the overall vision of Application Architecture, and are scalable
• Lead teams in determining solutions, planning, and implementation of strategic enterprise initiatives.
• Work with the directors, architects, and consultants to set architectural standards and policies and assess the feasibility of architectural changes across IT.
• Clearly and appropriately communicate application architecture solutions to senior leaders, technical managers and staff, and business partners.
• Work with all members of IT as a single point of contact to advise on application architecture direction.
• Review all technical specifications impacting or impacted by application architecture to ensure solutions are clearly understood and are in-line with the IT architecture vision.
• Provide appropriate leadership in ensuring the standards, guidelines, and communications are created, maintained and followed; creation of standards will be done in a timely manner as needed by the various departments within IT.
• Provide a single source for review and approval of technology affecting the application architecture vision; work with vendors and conduct evaluations on various technologies and products for recommendation.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree (MA) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public group, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to articulate, must be able to evaluate new technologies quickly and accurately; and must be able to make recommendations based on the information on hand.
• Understand importance and impact of designs for efficient production, adoption and maintenance of application solutions.
• Experience with hybrid of cloud and on-premise system architectures; understand secure protocols and integration best practices; designs for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Recognize forward-looking industry, business and IT trends.

Correctable vision required for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision capabilities and the ability to focus (ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
