Job Info

If you're looking for a rewarding career providing supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as well as their providers, come join Benchmark Human Services, a national leader in behavioral health and IDD services. Benchmark Human Services is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for its innovative Crisis Support Team located in Little Rock, AR.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the Crisis Support Team under Benchmark's Provider Focus project, serve as a behavior support staff assisting in crisis Level 1 interventions. The Crisis Support Team will assist Summit Community Care provider members in serving persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in crisis and at high risk of inpatient placement, involvement with law enforcement, potential harm to themselves or others, recidivism, or loss of residential/home placement due to severe behavioral, psychiatric or trauma related issues. Must be willing to flex schedule accordingly to provide services, supports, care, and treatment to individuals as required, respond immediately when dispatched on crisis responses, and be present to provide assistance and consultation to provider agency staff. Must be experienced and competent in profession and main any applicable license, training, or and certifications.

The RBT is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA ("designated RBT supervisor"). The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the supervisor. The RBT may also collect data and conduct certain types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments). The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the designated RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence. The designated RBT supervisor is ultimately responsible for the work performed by the RBT. Staff with the RBT will be responsible for implementing, not designing, the behavior plans designed by their supervisors. Each RBT must be willing to flex schedule according to individuals' needs.

The RBT credential will complement the BCBA-D, BCBA, and BCaBA credentials as an entry-level program that reflects the education and training necessary for the duties of a behavior technician. Whereas individuals with the BCBA and BCBA-D credentials are generally responsible for service-delivery oversight, and individuals with the BCaBA credential generally operate in a position assisting these supervisors, individuals with the RBT credential will be responsible for implementing, not designing, the behavior plans designed by their supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferable
  3. Successfully complete a criminal background registry check at time of application.
  4. Experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  5. If not currently certified as an RBT, complete a 40-hour training program (conducted by Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certificant).
  6. Pass the RBT Competency Assessment administered by a BACB certificant.
  7. Pay an RBT application fee and renewal fees.
