The primary responsibility of this position is to assist students and community members in the testing process in a professional and confidential manner. This includes test administration, scoring and reporting of test results, including certification and program testing. Additional responsibilities include assisting with testing programs, troubleshooting of computer-based testing, and general office duties of maintaining student records within the college database, filing exams, and serving as a back-up for answering phones. This position reports to the Testing Services Department Coordinator at the Sugar Grove campus and the Testing Services Department Coordinator at the Aurora Downtown campus.

Check-in examinees by the verification of student information and testing registration to ensure it meets standards of acceptance for maintaining test integrity.

Assist with scheduling test appointments and inquiries for walk-in customers and program exams as needed.

Administer exams on multiple testing platforms in compliance with testing requirements and regulations as established by testing authorities, including the distribution of testing instructions and timing of examinations.

Troubleshoot and navigate a variety of complex testing software, to include activating, launching, and completion/distribution of exam results within a computer-based testing environment.

Successfully complete various test vendor certifications and training standards necessary to administer certification and program exams by demonstrating test administration proficiency in each platform.

Maintain a secure testing environment by promoting and adopting Learning Assessment and Testing Services' test security practices and confidentiality agreements.

Ensure testing integrity by operating the surveillance/monitoring equipment, documenting testing irregularities, observing the use of notes, calculators, electronic devices, books and other materials in the testing room.

Maintain adequate inventory of all testing materials and verify all tests and supporting documents are collected from student.

Monitor testing room to ensure that computers are working appropriately and students are following testing guidelines.

Serve as proctor for external testing programs, including ACT and SAT as assigned.

Respect and uphold client confidentiality and maintain sensitive testing information.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Coordinators, Assessment Specialists and Testing Services Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Minimum one year of technical support, customer service or general office experience supporting a computer environment required.

Excellent computer literacy skills to include Microsoft Office, email, internet, and experience working in a networked environment.

Excellent customer service and organizational skills with the ability to handle testing occurrences and client communication.

Ability to work in a flexible and high student traffic environment and be able to apply reasoning and handle multi-step testing processes during peak testing periods.

Ability to work evenings and assigned Saturdays.
