Knight-Hennessy Scholars cultivates and supports a multidisciplinary and multicultural community of graduate students from across Stanford University, and delivers engaging experiences that prepare graduates to be visionary, courageous, and collaborative leaders who address complex challenges facing the world. Knight-Hennessy scholars join a supportive community of fellow scholars, receive funding for graduate study at Stanford, and participate in the King Global Leadership Program, which provides a collection of community experiences, workshops, meetings with leaders, domestic and global study trips, and personal development opportunities. Each year, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars admission team selects up to 100 scholars from an applicant pool of roughly 7,000 applicants. The Assistant Director of Admission will help to recruit, evaluate, and select the best multicultural, multidisciplinary cohort of scholars in a highly selective admission process. Under supervision from the Associate Director of Admission, the Assistant Director of Admission will also manage our yield and ambassador efforts. The ideal candidate will also exhibit intellectual curiosity, cross-cultural awareness, strong judgment, solid facility with data, and the ability to manage both complex and simple projects simultaneously with excellence.Your primary responsibilities include:

    Core admissions officer duties
      Read, evaluate, recommend and advocate to the Admission Committee on which graduate applicants to consider for admission based on current university priorities.Conduct online, on-campus, and off-campus informational sessions throughout the U.S. and the world, embodying the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program for internal and external communities on a variety of subjects including the program's mission and leadership model, scholar life and programming, scholar funding, and admissions.Further develop and strengthen relationships with secondary or university personnel, faculty, department contacts, fellowship advisers, professional organizations, current and prospective students, and alumni.Serve as a resource to other departments; represent Knight Hennessy-Scholars program at activities and events, meetings, committees and conferences.
      Act as project manager for our annual yield cycle by designing, implementing, overseeing and analyzing recruitment and yield project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives.
    Serve as primary point of contact for Knight-Hennessy Scholars who volunteer as student admission ambassadors; recruiting, selecting and training student admission ambassadors and coordinating their participation throughout the admissions cycleOther duties may also be assigned
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
    Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experienceDemonstrated ability to work independently and make distinctions among competitive applicantsExcellent reading comprehension skills, including reading large volumes of application materials while balancing consistent speed and meticulous critical thinkingAbility to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with good judgmentStrong oral and written communication skills; professional presentation skillsFamiliarity with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of the web, technology, social platforms, current and future trendsEnthusiasm for regularly and consistently producing engaging content on digital platformsExcellent interpersonal skills; ability to build lasting relationships and strong communities; customer focusAbility to influence cross-functional groups toward a shared goalStrong organizational, planning and time management skills.Adaptability to new information, changing conditions, or revised prioritiesFacility with data analysis

    * Please note this position will require occasional work on evenings and weekends and up to 25% travel.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,000 to $97,000 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.At Stanford University, base pay represents only one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
