The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign has an opening for an Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Marketing and Advertising

  • Manage the marketing and promotions for women's basketball and baseball, including all advertising and messaging strategy for sales of tickets and attendance growth.
  • Serve as secondary football marketing contact, and oversee football gameday management of Grange Grove, a space with live entertainment, kids zone and public tailgating.
  • Assist with the revenue generation of Illinois football and men's basketball and the required budgetary goals and milestones.
  • Assist with advertising and media trade partnership acquisition and fulfillment.
  • Serve as primary liaison with Paciolan, Illinois' ticketing partner and the Illinois ticket office.

Fan Engagement
  • Manage the day-to-day fan engagement for women's basketball and baseball, including but not limited to gameday promotions, script creation and game presentation.
  • Assist with and continue to develop programs that provide fan engagement outside sporting events - Illini Tours, Kids Club, student programming, and rewards programs.

Strategic Leadership
  • Manage student internship program and payroll portal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.

Experience:

Required: One (1) year of professional work experience in marketing, brand management, or fan engagement in a college or professional athletic marketing setting.

Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in college or professional athletics marketing or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position.

SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

This is a full-time Civil Service Marketing Associate position appointed on a [12]-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary will be commensurate with experience
