Position Information: DescriptionThe University of North Dakota Department of Athletics is currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Video Production.  The primary function of the Assistant Director of Video Production is to increase the exposure for UND Athletics on multimedia platforms.  This position will produce live events and original content for exposure on television, FightingHawks.com and other streaming platforms.  Video content continues to increase around the country and this position will produce content to serve our fans and improve the student-athlete experience by providing exposure.  The exposure that this position produces will help coaches recruit student-athletes.  The entire university will benefit from the exposure produced by this position.  Must have a commitment to compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.  Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes.The purpose of UND Athletics is to initiate, stimulate and improve the athletics program for student-athletes to promote and develop their education leadership, physical fitness, athletic excellence and provide opportunities for participation in a sport of choice.  Its competitive athletics program is designed to be a vital part of the University of North Dakota’s education system by stressing the importance of each student-athlete being an active part of the student body while making satisfactory progress toward a baccalaureate degree.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce live video content for department.
  • Ensure streams of all home games are working and ready to fix if/when needed.
  • Produce and is responsible for video streaming of games and special events including, but not limited to, crewing, equipment, set up/strike, technology, connectivity, communication, and platform.
  • Serve as game day producer of video board production for events in the The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
  • Produce and is responsible for social media in-game highlights.
  • Produce and is responsible for pre-production elements.
  • Fulfill appropriate corporate sponsorships content.
  • Maintain all video equipment & ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Lead equipment and facility upgrades.
  • Produce and is responsible for all on-demand content, such as Through These Doors.
  • Produce and is responsible for all video feature stories.
  • Produce and is responsible for all intro videos for football, volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball.
  • Produce and is responsible for TV commercials and hype videos.
  • Other duties as assigned by Assistant AD for Video Production.
Required Competencies
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must have effective professional working relationship with student-athletes, staff, administration, alumni, and general public.
  • Must have commitment to NCAA compliance and follow all NCAA, conference and UND rules and regulations.
  • Must provide support and encouragement and ensure the safety and well-being of the student-athletes including having a valid driver’s license.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One (1) year of experience as an intern, part-time, or full-time in sports, news video production, or related video production.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in sports, news video production, or related video production.
  • Experience with video cameras, Tri-Caster, 3-Play, Chryon.
  • Experience with Adobe Premier Pro.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics through experience.
  • Still photography experience.
  • Graphic design experience.
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

Salary Range of $34,000 - $36,800/year.  Full-time, Benefitted position.

Work Schedule/Start Date

Regular Work Schedule; attendance at athletic activities will require working nights & weekends to attend athletic events, and some travel may be required to attend away team competitions.
