Description
The Department of Romance Languages and Literature and the Humanities Collegiate Division at the University of Chicago is accepting applications for a full time benefits eligible position as an Assistant Instructional Professor (AIP) who will teach 6 courses per year in the Spanish Language Program. The AIP will teach multiple Spanish courses and assist with course administration and instructional materials development; prepare lectures, review and grade assignments. In addition, the AIP will teach an advance Spanish language class for social workers in the School of Social Services Administration. The AIP will perform related administrative duties such as serving as coordinator for Talk Abroad and Connect, organize co-curricular events, and engage in outreach and publicity on behalf of the Spanish Language program.
Qualifications: Master of Arts degree plus one year experience in job offered or in Spanish Language Instruction is required. Other required skills include a superior level of proficiency in Spanish as defined by the ACTFL, which must be demonstrated through interview or certification; one year of experience teaching Spanish at the college of post-secondary level; and one year experience developing instructional materials.
