Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job:

Preferred area(s) of specialization are Policing or Corrections with primary consideration given to candidates who demonstrate the capacity to work with agencies and contribute to the Department's educational missions, research productivity requirements, and service activities.

Educational Requirements for the Position:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related academic field. ABDs are encouraged to apply but must have their degree conferred by the start of employment.

Experience Required for the Position:

Seeking candidates for an advanced Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate is expected to teach core courses in the Department's academic degree programs, have an active research agenda that includes potential for a strong publication record, potential for (or record of) externally funded research, and a commitment to quality teaching and mentoring of students.
