Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary: eTEC Fire Protection seeks an Assistant Project Manager with experience in Commercial Construction in Richmond, Virginia. This position will work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday -Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work orders - service and inspection
  • Set up new jobs- service, tenant and new construction. Includes folders, processing subcontracts, schedule of values, AIA paperwork, certificate of insurance, W-9, etc.
  • Process pending and approved change orders.
  • Invoice / billings
  • Job file maintenance- filling, receiving permits, close out documentation, etc.
  • Contract processing/Purchase Orders
  • Customer pre-qualification / pre-construction paperwork
  • Other administrative duties as directed by CFO and President such as mail distribution, answering and qualifying phone calls and greeting customers and vendors in front office area.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
  • 2 to 3 years' experience of assisting project managers on commercial building construction and adaptive use/renovation and must have commercial construction experience.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting software.
  • Knowledgeable in commercial building systems and construction plans and documentation.
  • Experience in working with Subcontractors, AIA billing, setting up jobs and work orders.
  • Proactive with ability to anticipate and solve problems before they arise.
  • Capacity to coordinate multiple tasks through superior time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works as a team and hold oneself to a very high standard with a positive attitude.
