Job Description

The Assistant Scientist (Small Molecules) is responsible for performing analytical testing and analysis of biopharmaceutical drug substances, drug products, and raw materials, as well as assisting other scientists in the completion of their tasks. You will conceive, implement, and analyze experiments to produce data independently. This position presents the employee with an opportunity to play a key customer service role in the company while simultaneously learning the technical skills required to advance in the field of pharmaceutical analysis.

• Perform analytical studies utilizing GCMS and LCMS in a fast-paced leading Contract Research Organization
• Perform various tasks in support of laboratory operation and maintenance
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation required for cGMP analyses
• Lead or Assist with complex analytical studies, including study design and execution
• Prepare chemical solutions and perform detailed and complex analytical procedures (e.g., extractions, purifications, evaporations, derivatizations, etc.) following SOPs and established test protocols
• Assist with method development and validation of LCMS and/or GCMS methods
• Interpretation of quantitative and qualitative mass spectrometric data
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to meet all necessary regulatory requirements
• Liaise with clients to discuss analytical requirements and results

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent
• Industry experience in Analytical Chemistry, GCMS or LCMS, and cGMP is preferred
