SUMMARY OF POSITION

The incumbent will have direct P&L impact / accountability, co-create the category strategy with the VP of Category, and own the execution of the North America B2B Wiper Business. This includes the product portfolio strategies and plans to accelerate growth and competitive share gain. The B2B Wiper Business Portfolio includes Limited Wipers, Extended Wipers and Specialty Wipers, and each of these subcategories has multiple formats across the WypAll and Kimtech brands.

Primarily, this role will be responsible for accelerating growth, gaining share in existing and new segments while playing in a highly competitive disposable wipers and rags market. The role will also be responsible for leading the B2B Wiping category team to develop and execute plans that align to the Annual and Strategic Business plans that deliver profitable growth for North America.

Due to the size of the NA Wiper business and its share of global representation, the Wiper leader must be a strong influencer of the innovation pipeline for the world. This role's global influence is crucial to the success of the wiper business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Annual Strategy for B2B Wiper business Product Portfolio, Leading the development of cohesive Dry and Specialty Product Strategies through the incumbent's team to meet agreed annual business objectives. Market share, profit and ECS objectives (KPI's). The role is accountable for the P&L's and working capital/inventory management for B2B wiping categories. Responsibilities will include pulling all P&L levers and driving plans to improve product portfolio mix, drive SKU efficiency, identify supply needs, cost structure / drivers, capital expenditures, alternate routes to market, sustainability, and other margin improvement opportunities.
  • Strategy Creation and execution of a clear, task-driven, trade up/down consumable portfolio strategy aligning with the current brand architecture structure for B2B Wipers. Launch or adjust consumables specs to create a clear differentiation between performance & pricing tiers, securing first the right product to match customers where they are and second, secure that in each spec assessment we manage the right equation between cost and what customers are willing to pay.
  • Define and manage pricing strategy for each product line and provide guide price direction for the sales teams. This responsibility includes setting pricing for new product or service innovation, setting and managing on a quarterly basis pricing across 8 pricing tiers, defining, and guiding end user segment and distributor channel specific pricing nuances, and consistently assessing cost and competitive implications on the pricing strategy. Additionally, this role will need to carefully manage the portfolio transition to secure competitive pricing on a price per sheet and price per case basis, as an outcome of the recent market insights and how this will influence the trade up/down strategy in consumables.
  • Lead innovation and renovation commercialization activities for new products/services within the B2B Wiper business, including end user/market needs assessment, new innovation or renovation concept creation, overall management of packaging, supply chain activities, preparation of sales support materials, and commercialization of said innovation/renovation.
  • Lead, inspire, and build an assertive, proactive, results-oriented team that is passionate about winning through teamwork. Identifies and hires top-tier talent; maximizes team member effectiveness by providing ongoing coaching and feedback; creates opportunities for growth and development.
  • Development of relevant category specific Competitive and Market Intelligence in key categories by researching and interpreting relevant new category developments in target markets, competitive share performance, tracking the activities of key competitors and developing actionable responses to them.
  • Seek out, synthesize, interpret, share, and apply information/data to develop insights providing new perspective on products, categories, competitors, markets, and/or KCP pricing/performance.
  • Develop strategies, plans, budgets, and forecasts to drive KCP business performance improvement, and adjust at appropriate time intervals including the annual development/refresh of the SBP and ABP, and quarterly forecast intervals.
  • Development of process improvements to the Product Management role to enable increased business management and analytics, using Continuous Improvement processes to reduce overall time allocation.
  • Cooperatively work with the e-Comm team to ensure a product and portfolio strategy exists to grow share in our fastest growing channel to end users.
  • Cooperatively work with the Channel Marketing and Sales teams to ensure alignment on category management priorities in order to support their target brand, segment and channel business plans e.g., effectively commercializing new portfolio products into target segment/channels and sales capability building.
  • Work closely with Global counterparts, R&E, and Supply Chain to develop strategic innovation/renovation/footprint plans and milestones to support most effectively to deliver short and long-term financial commitments.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate regional category activities and programs with the Industrial & Safety and Home Professional teams to ensure we have an integrated approach which maximizes the combined efforts of the sales effort.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher, in business-related discipline
  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, sales and operations or finance. The ideal candidate having experience in several of these disciplines in a B2B context
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and leading through influence.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships and a collaborative, teaming environment across functional organizations and geographical regions.
  • Proven track record of effective strategic planning and product launch execution.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and financial business acumen
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proven business management skills
  • Notable track record in a team leader role with evidence of growing and promoting top talent
  • Credibility and proven success in delivering with Sales teams and/or with key distributor partners
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
