The Associate Director, Commercial Data Management, will be leading a team directly responsible for aligning, prioritizing, and delivering projects and operations related to the Commercial Data Lake and Commercial Data Warehouse. This includes management of the data stream from procurement, delivery, integration, validation, provisioning and storage. This role will operationalize strategic priorities related to Commercial Insights and Analytics (I&A) in multiple formats (e.g. executive reports, training, key performance indicators (KPIs), insights generation, data mining, etc.). Responsibilities:

  • Can fully understand and help develop partner business objectives, strategies and key initiatives as well as potential issues they may face.
  • Proactively sets vision and I&A Business Intelligence (BI) plan by automating data integration, including specifying sources, delivery requirements and tools needed within budget guidelines.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience utilizing broad range of secondary data sources (e.g. audited data, syndicated studies, claims databases, etc.), and experience in customizing to all geo levels (e.g. national, sub-national, regional, local) for specific requirements.
  • Experience in the use and application of reporting and business intelligence solutions/tools across a range of technical environments and platforms (MS Office, Qlik, Spotfire, SQL, Tableau, R/SAS, etc.). Able to mentor a junior team on the use of these tools.
  • Experience implementing innovative and/or adapted approaches and techniques that reflect current and future best-in-class practice (e.g., cloud-based approaches, process automation, real-time dashboarding/delivery, data platforming frameworks, predictive analytics, machine learning, etc.).
  • Proven understanding of all data preparation, quality control, compliance and reporting standards, and how various data types, both primary and secondary, can be integrated/harmonized from diverse and sophisticated sources.
  • Can execute comprehensive project plans: secure internal and external data, prepare meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Handle vendor relationships
  • Keen ability in integrating and provisioning data to enable downstream users to create measurable insights, implications & recommendations to address business issues and/or find opportunities.
  • Adept at troubleshooting data anomalies, assessing impact, creating recommendations and gaining agreement from partners
  • Demonstrates breakthrough thinking in uncovering core insights from secondary sources, thinks strategically and creatively - can see both the "big picture" and important details.
  • Requirements:
    • BA/BS required and 10+ years OR Master's degree and 8+years's experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or health care related industry
    • US experience with new drug launch required.
    • Experience leading teams.
    • Experience in biologic drugs including Oncology, Ophthalmology and Immunology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
    • Proven knowledge and hands-on working experience with IQVIA data (e.g. Xponent PlanTrak, DDD), 867 trade data, SPP dispense and patient status data, inclusive of utilizing within business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS, SQL)
    • Prior experience with use of executive KPI metrics and reports
    Preferred Experience
    • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas.
    • Alliance or co-promotion experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience on client (vendor management) and consulting side.
    • Strong Interpersonal skills
    • Strong Communication skills
    • Ability to persuade/influence teams/partners objectively on the basis of insights and guide the business forward.
