The Role:

The Associate Director, Digital Communications will enhance Moderna's reputation by developing and managing the Company's social media channels and blog. This position will also help with developing compelling content that leverages a range of digital and social channels to engage internal and external key stakeholders, in close partnership with the Corporate Affairs Team.

They will be fluent in social and digital communications engagement and strategy; have experience working with a variety of digital media environments; and be comfortable working with corporate and program teams across a complex organization and multiple sites.

They will have excellent experience in analytics-driven decision-making to inform content strategy and creation, platform management and ongoing optimizations.

The position reports to the Executive Director, Digital Communications and is based in our new state-of-the-art LEED certified headquarters in Cambridge, MA and is onsite 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30% of the time.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Digital Communication Enhancement: Identify and execute strategic opportunities to amplify Moderna's digital presence, showcasing our commitment to push past possible by continually expanding and elevating our corporate profile globally.
  • Management of Social Channels and Blog/Website: Oversee the operation of global enterprise social media channels and the execution of the content strategy, applying a pivot fearlessly approach to adapt and thrive in the ever-changing digital landscape.
  • Data-Driven Strategy Optimization: Monitor and enhance the effectiveness of all digital channels by applying rigorous data analysis and insights, embodying the obsess over learning mindset to continuously refine and optimize our digital strategies.
  • Performance Reporting: Collaborate with the team to provide detailed reports on key performance indicators for all digital campaigns, using an act with dynamic range approach to balance strategic insights with practical execution.
  • Content Creation and Compliance: Create engaging posts, edit photos and videos, and design graphics while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations by working closely with Legal, Ethics, Pharmacovigilance and Compliance teams, demonstrating our behave like owners ethic.
  • Social Media Best Practices Advisory: Advise internal stakeholders on best practices for social media, championing question convention to encourage the adoption of innovative digital communication strategies.
  • Vendor and Agency Oversight: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies on specific projects, ensuring that Moderna's voice and brand remain consistent and influential across all channels and campaigns.
  • Technology and Best Practices Evaluation: Stay ahead of digital trends and technologies, recommending new tools and practices that can enhance our digital communications, reflecting a remove viscosity mindset to make our processes more agile and effective.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8+ years' experience working in corporate communications, digital or social strategy related function
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Expertise in integrated digital communications and campaign planning, including development, execution, and measurement strategies in the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated experience in crafting integrated, multi-channel digital strategies at a global scale; with a deep understanding of audiences and channels
  • Experience of working with C-suite level executives and proven record of building and maintaining stakeholder relationships - within teams, across the business, with senior leaders and external agencies
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience and understanding of multi-cultural, multi-country/region businesses is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
