The Helium Strategic Project Manager will be a member of the Helium & Rare Gases Global team located in The Woodlands, TX and will act as a dedicated resource responsible for the development, commercialization, and management of capital projects around new Helium sources and storage solutions. The project manager will be responsible for interfacing with Linde Engineering and/or Drilling Contractors and ensuring that the projects have the right resources allocated until they are fully completed.

Project Manager - Helium Upstream

The Project Manager shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Technical understanding of oil & gas exploration, production, storage and processing while also establishing a strong network and reputation with oil and gas firms developing hydrocarbons and/or helium resources globally.
  • Develop or oversee the development of cost estimates.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders such as Linde Engineering, Linde Cryogenics, LKT, ASU's Operations.
  • Preparation and control of project documents such as cost reports, project schedules, project folders, meetings, projects definitions, planning, projects progress and others relevant documents.
  • Selection of construction contractors, when appropriate.
  • Development of scope of work for construction contractors.
  • Collection, development and implementation of project changes.
  • Ensure that projects comply with all Linde SHEQ requirements and standards
  • Execution of project presentations and reports
  • Direct all project phases - engineering (basic and detailed), procurement, fabrication, shipping, construction (if applicable) and commissioning/start-up.
  • Maintain a strategic focus for the project with frequent interaction with the business area and the client to ensure a balance between the immediate project needs and the long-term goals of the company.
  • Manage the execution of the project with a focus on maintaining or improving the as-sold profit level for the project.
  • Support proposal activities and provide cost estimates
  • Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations.
  • Lead Project Meetings
  • Analyze risks and prepare Project Risk Analysis for corporate review on periodical basis.
  • Review and approves key project documents including P&IDs, Plot Plans, steel and piping fabrication drawings, Operating Manuals, etc.
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.
  • Evaluate multiple helium underground storage alternatives and develop a set of recommendations


Qualifications
  • BS/BA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6 years oil and gas upstream experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable but not required.
  • Possess a general understanding of contract administration, business principals and business law.
  • Possess a broad understanding of each engineering discipline.
  • Effective management and leadership skills.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willing and able to travel (50% or less)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee must occasionally climb up to heights of 70 feet.
