JOB SUMMARY - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Work with the Product Manager to assist in developing marketing plans for a product segment, which contain the launch plan for new products, advertising, and promotional initiatives to support the product, assist in sales training, develop sales strategies to address competitive selling activities, as well as provide analysis of the current competitive situation, positioning of the product in the market, and product pricing

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Co-manage products within a product group to gain experience in product management. i.e. Sotradecol and Vanishing Veins marketing services.
  • Review and analyze market studies, trade literature, and internet sources to formulate ideas and opinions on areas of opportunity presented by the market place; maintaining files of competitive material for reference. (Maintain TAM and TMP document)
  • Assists, develop and maintain sales tools including: power points, pitch books article updates, success stories, tips and selling against competitors. Work with Sales training in development and needs.
  • Assist in managing trade show participation to promote the sales of assigned products by assisting with the selection of the products to be displayed based on the perceived needs of the trade show attendees
  • Travel to trade shows sales meeting and advisory board meeting to assist in implementation, training and execution of product strategies.
  • Works with Physician training department on scheduling and implementing physician trainingstrategies.
  • Work with product management to communicate group product strategies.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, and answering questions and requests.
  • Assists in determining product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, anticipating volume, and costing special and customized orders.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
  • Controls project costs by receiving bids; having bids approved by management.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains historical reference by establishing and maintaining a filing and retrieval system.
  • Participate in the creation of product literature based on an in-depth understanding of the key elements of the market.Formulate a clear objective for each piece of literature produced.Ensure all levels of literature inventory are current and supply is adequate.
  • Maintains professional technical knowledge by attending education workshops; reviewing publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the competition's response to the new product introduction and initiating appropriate action to counter competitive activities.
  • Developing and implementing counter-trend strategies, such as special promotions, when sales are lower than projections.
  • Monitor product sales and tracking against projected sales, revenue, and profits. Track andevaluate product performance and sales after product launch by monitoring customer satisfaction with initial installations and use of the product and communicating closely with technical staff in the field on product performance issues.

QUALIFICATIONS-The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education and Experience
  • BachelorsLevel of Degree in the marketing or relatedfield of study
  • Equivalent work related experience acceptable in lieu of degree: No
  • 2years of demonstrated experience in Medical device marketing
  • Certifications Required: N/A
  • MBA preferred
Skills/Knowledge
  • Ability to present effectively in front of large groups is essential
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problems solving skills
  • Self-starter able to work well within the group environment
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be able to excel in a team environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills and highly developed communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Must feel comfortable challenging current thinking and be flexible to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively communication both internally and externally.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
