Job Info

VCA South County Animal Hospital is seeking a P/T or F/T Associate Veterinarian to join our AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor practice in Arroyo Grande, California.

Our ideal candidate will be a compassionate veterinarian who is a good team player and has a gentle bedside manner.

Our modern, fully equipped, 8,000 square foot hospital, was newly built in 2010. Our services include comprehensive preventive wellness care including early disease detection and vaccines, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry and dental radiographs, digital radiology, diagnostic ultrasound, cold laser therapy and acupuncture.

VCA South County Animal Hospital is located next to the Village of Arroyo Grande, a walkable downtown area, situated in the heart of the stunning California Central Coast, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our temperate climate makes it easy to find time to explore the surrounding lush vineyards, beaches and rolling hills without the traffic and congestion of a big city.

We are a multi-doctor practice, open six days a week. Veterinarians typically work a 10-hour shift three or four days per week, allowing plenty of time to spend days off enjoying outdoor activities. Our practice employs a team of highly skilled veterinary support staff which allow you to dedicate your time to practicing medicine and performing surgery.

At VCA we want our doctors to practice medicine dictated by the needs of the patient, not by a corporate handbook. We are committed to equity, inclusion, and diversity, and strive to be a place where a talented mix of people want to come, stay, and do their best work.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $64,000 to $170,000. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

As a member of the VCA family, your love for medicine and compassion for pets and people is matched with a commitment to your professional growth. Eligible full-time employees will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Health & Wellness

  • An innovative, new department focused on associate health and wellbeing, with programs such as company sponsored Headspace app subscriptions, Vault financial wellness tools, and access to additional mental health resources.

  • Health, dental, vision insurance with HSA/FSA, infertility benefits
