Job Summary:

This role is a technical validation lead for wireless technologies supporting Caterpillar Autonomy and Automation products. Work closely with Caterpillar engineers, end-customers, and third-party vendors to test, validate, and optimize wireless systems to enable Caterpillar Autonomy and Automation products to perform as designed. What You Will Do:

• Lead technical validation efforts for wireless (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, etc.) testing.
• Provide technical leadership and strategy for Caterpillar Proving Ground wireless networks.
• Maintain close relationships with wireless OEM vendor developers for existing and new products.
• Work closely with Caterpillar IT to ensure strategy is in place to maintain high performing machine network connectivity, including information security at Caterpillar Proving Grounds.

Education requirement:

• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.

• Works with outdoor wireless networking technologies and radio frequency
• Applies knowledge of outdoor mesh wireless networks
• Familiarity with C++ programming language.
• Works with Linux software
• Private cellular (LTE and 5G) installation and troubleshooting
• Applies knowledge of Minestar Office and Onboard systems and network requirements
• Applies knowledge underground product and network requirements.
• Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.
• Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Mentors others to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions.

• Communicates complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner so that others can understand.
• Breadth of knowledge with outdoor wireless networking technologies and radio frequency
• Provides relevant, timely and objective subject matter/process expertise and key insight regarding multiple client business areas and affiliated fields.
• Provides others with information, opportunities, or resources to develop their skills in the area of expertise.
• Discards examples of persuasive arguments lacking evidentiary support or impact.
• Coaches others to enhance their proficiency regarding the tenets, practices, and examples of the 'trusted advisor' credential.
