Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of the furnace and batch mixing facilities under the direction of the Batch and Furnace Manager.
  • Assist Batch and Furnace Manager with the organization and direction of the Batch and Furnace department ensuring consistent quality glass through the most efficient use of energy and equipment.
  • Supervise and direct department employees.
  • Perform administrative duties necessary for the effective management of the department including the selection and development of employees salaried and budget administration labor relations cost control monitoring of department performance and maintaining timely and accurate reporting.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment consistent with Ardagh Group's policies and procedures while striving for zero accidents.
  • Assist with the development and training of standard operating procedures polices and quality standards utilized in glass melting refining and batch and cullet operations.
  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of the EPscrubber system.
  • Assist the Plant Environmental Engineer in the collection and reporting of emissions data and responding to regulatory agency requests.
  • Order raw material and tracks raw material shipments.
  • Provide backup support during absences of the Batch and Furnace Manager.
  • Monitor and control Ardagh Group established procedures policies and quality standards utilized in glass melting refining and ingredients used in batches.
  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities

Qualifications:
  • A successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Supervisory experience in a production and/or union environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the methods and quality standards for glass making.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a teambased environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Applications.

Compensation

The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $77,400 and $116,200 per year. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate. The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
