SUMMARY

Responsible for developing, implementing, administering, and maintaining Amerijet’s benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensure programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost-effective. The Benefits Manager develops benefits communications and evaluates benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends, and developments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility includes, but is not limited to the administration of employee benefits programs including retirement, flex plans, 401(k), pension plans, deferred compensation programs.
  • Analyze benefits costs and policies in an ongoing effort to reflect trends and maintain current with legislated requirements.
  • Work with Human Recourses Vice President and consultants to interpret plan documents,assist with benefits issues.
  • Works with outside providers and the and HR Shared Services team to ensure that program benefits are communicated to employees.
  • Preparing to report for the IRS and Department of Labor; preparing supporting forms and documentation for the proper operation and administration of employee benefits plans, including 401(k) plans.
  • Coordinate Open Enrollment including, communication materials, etc.
  • Work with a brokerage firm and Health Providers to manage progressive wellness programs.
  • Prepare, review, and sign benefits invoices and funding.
  • Manage the annual ERISA audit of a Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Plan
  • Research and resolve administrative and policy interpretation issues with vendors.
  • Ensures company stays apprised of and in compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). Stay current on legislation and implications for benefit plans.
  • Prepares reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies
  • Serve as a resource to HR representatives in the Business Units.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/MEASUREMENTS;

  • The human resource information system functions smoothly. Personnel benefits data and statistics are efficiently recorded, stored and retrieved as appropriate.
  • Reporting functions are completed accurately and timely, and in accordance with established policies and federal and state regulations.
  • Ensures Human Resources and or Payroll functions related to benefits are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Errors or discrepancies are promptly discovered and resolved.
  • Visitors and telephone calls are courteously and professionally received or referred. Good public relations exist with outside contacts.
  • Effective working relations exist with Company personnel. Management is appropriately informed.


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:



· Associate Degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience.

· Human Resources Certification and additional related training preferred.



REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:



· Basic understanding of human resource and payroll functions.

· Knowledge of all related computer applications.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



· At least Five years of direct experience in a human resource.

· Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  • Well organized.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent communications and public relations abilities.
  • Strong typing and computer application skills.
  • Ability to assist and support others.

Able to operate a telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time in an office environment.Some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.

TRAVEL

Must be able to travel occasionally to domestic and/or international sites.
