BIM Specialists work closely with the VDC team to maximize efficiency and assist in delivering projects in BIM. This position is responsible for providing top notch production support, technical support, documentation, training, and development to all VDC staff. Ideal candidates must be proficient in the use of Bluebeam Studio or other pdf document markup software, be proficient in the use, troubleshoot, and training of Revit, Navisworks and other Autodesk Suite software, and have a strong understanding of building design and construction practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate Degree

Experience: 5+ years of Revit experience and multi-discipline coordination

Travel: 10-20%

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday;
However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initial set up and technical management of projects based on BIM Standards and established workflows, making early decisions on how to break-up models and distribute them based on design and construction team needs, geographical location, and collaboration requirements.
  • Initiate Model for each project and prepare for production team.
  • Continually review projects for standard use, ensuring modeling is done properly and model sizes are kept at a minimum.
  • Support and monitoring of content and LOD requirements for projects, ensuring required LOD is met, unneeded content purged on a regular basis and redundant content removed.
  • Provide Revit, Navisworks and other software support.
  • Daily model management administration and maintenance.
  • Over the shoulder training, development, and shadowing of Preconstruction staff.
  • Content creation: Families including parametric, formula, nested and type catalogs data.
  • Development, implementation, and training of company BIM Standards and programs, including creation and management of content.
  • Integration of Revit products with other applications.
  • Creation and research of tools, add-ins, scripts, automations, and workflows as assigned.
  • Feedback voice for individual areas, including technology improvements, standards, and workflow improvements.
  • Assist in modeling and detailing of projects as needed.
  • Implementation and management of internal clash reports and coordination meetings for model QAQC, project support and standards auditing purposes.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
