Job Responsibilities
The Budget Analyst's primary responsibilities include but are not limited to providing analytical, technical, and support to the Budget Director. In conjunction with the Budget Director, the Budget Analyst will assist in budget planning, development and monitoring operating and capital budgets while maintaining budget integrity throughout the accounting monitoring process.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.
Preferred QualificationsRelated fields and experience may include finance, economics, or other business analytics disciplines. Budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting work experience with a South Carolina state agency, local governmental, or college entity is preferred. Strong Excel spreadsheet skills are vital to the success of this job. Analytical software skills, including spreadsheet design, financial modeling, and financial analysis, are essential. Exceptional business writing skills are also crucial. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data and write clear and concise financial narratives and reports for consumption by a wide variety of target audiences. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of enterprise-wide central accounting and reporting software systems.
