Braun Intertec's Building and Structure Sciences Group is seeking an experienced Building Enclosure Field Services Technician for our Houston or Austin, TX-based team. A candidate will be considered from Houston or Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Building enclosure, component constructability, material analysis, field observations, and field testing services.
  • Perform field observations/inspections, window testing, blower door testing, electronic leak detection, air barrier observations/testing, roof observations/testing, infrared thermography, etc.
  • Provide daily reports to project managers and clients.
  • Perform building enclosure assessments/data gathering, building enclosure failure investigation support, and associated reporting.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment
  • Mentoring from experienced consultants, licensed architects, and professional engineers.


Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Mechanically included
  • Travel beyond the Houston/Austin area to support work in other areas of Texas and outside of Texas for National Client work.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, to walk through a project or jobsite, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, carry, touch and climb. This can be in a combination of tightly enclosed areas, or on ladders, lifts and scaffolding. At times the job can be physically demanding and involves interior and exterior work in all weather conditions.


Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of building enclosure construction and inspection work-related experience.
  • Postsecondary education preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with standards and procedures with AAMA, ASTM, ABAA, ANSI, ADA, NFPA, ICC, etc.
  • Computer proficiency in a mobile environment.
  • Valid Driver's License and clear driving record
