SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this position processes business and secondhand dealer licenses for all domestic locations. The principal business outcome for this position is to ensure that GameStop stores are in compliance with all business licenses, second-hand dealer laws and regulations obtaining and renewing the appropriate license. The Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Many non-routine activities will require a supervisor's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Prepare business/secondhand license renewals timely so that business is not disrupted.
  • Research various licensing laws and regulations related to the appropriate jurisdiction for new store locations via the internet and by contacting the appropriate jurisdiction.
  • Ensure that new store locations meet the appropriate jurisdictions' regulations and keep the Construction Department informed of any potential delays to store openings.
  • Communicate with field personnel regarding secondhand license issues related to compliance and recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate with local jurisdictions when issues arise concerning conditional use permits.
  • Coordinate Executive Officer and store employee background checks when required to obtain licensing permit.
  • Communicate and partner with local Police Departments and Law Enforcement officials in a professional manner.
  • Ensure correct fees for licenses are obtained and paid to the appropriate party in a timely manner so business is not disrupted.
  • Update progress of new store licensing on Construction department Expesite Software Program.
  • Meet deadlines timely and accurately.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of retail and/or secondhand dealer licensing experience preferred
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends according to business necessity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Daily use of License HQ Software for updating new stores and renewals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal codes and regulations
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies/errors in written/recorded data/information including the ability to initiate and respond to work errors in a professional manner
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
  • Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
