Responsibilities

Responsible for financial, surgical information, scheduling, materials inventory control (with Materials management), and management systems for the Department of Surgical Services. Participates in projects related to acquisition, utilization, and distribution of equipment and supplies. Communicates with sales representatives and clinical staff regarding product and inventory contracts. Responsible for evaluation of new products and product conversion. Supervises scheduling and charging staff. Responsible for surgical information system. Analyzes financial and statistical data, identifies, trends and coordinates reporting. Understands all aspects of the business of surgical services. He/she will assist leadership with all reports and make recommendations as to how to improve the business. He/she will lead the capital budget process as well as control the operating budget. Responsible for all aspects of reporting, charging, and scheduling.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, Business, Finance/Management, MBA or MHA preferred.

Required Minimum Experience:
  • Two years of experience in healthcare setting.
  • Experience with budgeting, statistics, systems analysis, and/or project management desired.

Required Minimum Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Must be able to establish excellent working relationships with physicians, staff and other hospital departments.
  • Financial analysis, Presentation skills, knowledge of systems, knowledge of LEAN processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead a group through change.
