Buyer/Planner-Production & Manufacturing

12+ month contract position within manufacturing plant of large, national products company in Monroe NC. Job os onsite as Buyer/Planner for production and manufacturing of safety products. Find and procure materials used in teh manufacturing of the products. 12+ month contract position. Possible conversion. Bachelors degree required. Pay: $18-24/hr. Experience in buying/procurement needed.

Position Overview: Planning production schedule for assigned work cells and procuring raw material for assigned suppliers

Position Duties:
1. Place purchase orders per MPS/MRP recommendations
2. Expedite purchase orders as needed, resolve supplier issues, identify issues to management
3. Analyze supply, demand, and date new sales orders
4. Plan production schedule and release work orders
5. Analyze parameters and update item data per procedures
6. Communicate daily with Production, Engineering, Quality, Management and Logistic on supply chain related topics (Backorders, OTIF, Customer Orders and Inventory)

Requirements:
*Bachelors' Degree - Supply Chain Preferred
* Prefer 2- 5 years' experience buying and/or planning or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business
* 5+ years buying and/or planning in manufacturing environment
* Baan ERP experience
* Excel pivot tables, filters, vlookups
* APICS Certification
