SUMMARY
The CAD Drafter II - ARAMIS provides support to Chickasaw Network Services, LLC. This position produces Outside Plant (OSP) CAD work plans, and associated work package documents in coordination with other engineering department personnel. CAD Drafter - ARAMIS drafts buried, aerial, and underground cable systems and OSP supporting structures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Uses Auto-CAD, MicroStation and other technical drafting / illustration software to render various types of plans and technical illustrations.

Creates, modifies, converts, and provides configuration management of fabrication drawings, figures, illustrations, and schematic by automated and manual methods for all systems.

Uses drafting procedures, processes, technical specifications and engineering parameters of systems and equipment to ensure accuracy.

Works with engineers and other designers to prepare drawings or computer models of unusual, complex, or original designs that require a high degree of precision.

Drafts buried, aerial, and underground cable systems and OSP supporting structures as assigned.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two (2) year's relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Must be familiar with OSP Engineering standards, practices, and construction methods, and must have previous experience with ARAMIS. Must have experience with telephone industry standards with the ability to meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Knowledge of engineering documents, specifications and estimates for projects
Ability to prepare architectural plans using Auto-CAD drafting techniques
Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Working knowledge of Microsoft Productivity Tools
Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented with ability to quickly grasp instructions
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to manage workload and time effectively
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment for the successful achievement of goals
Deep understanding of communications engineering and related systems
Previous experience working in computer aided design, AutoCAD.MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and database proficiency
Previous experience working in client proprietary software is preferred
Be skilled in multi-tasking with strong attention to detail
Basic mathematical skills and calculation skills are required
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Understand routing of utilities and placement techniques
Use mature judgment in all aspects of the job
Ability to develop permit packages (City, State, Rail) etc
Excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
Ability to assign fiber count to all cables and terminals per client specifications throughout projects

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May be required to use safety and personal protective equipment.
