CAD Technician - Lenexa, KS

GBA is a multi-disciplined professional design firm providing engineering and architectural services to clients in the public and private sectors throughout the Midwest. The Water Environment Group at GBA is looking for a CAD technician to join our Water Services division in our Lenexa, KS headquarters office. This person will assist with drafting of water projects in the office along with occasional field visits.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcView to draft construction drawings and/or exhibits for a variety of civil projects to include water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer projects.
• Use GIS with Civil3D to incorporate features from GIS to construction drawings.
• Conduct field investigations in support of current projects.
• Assist with writing specifications to support construction documents being developed for water, wastewater, and stormwater and environmental projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher in Drafting Technology preferred OR combination of academics and experience.
• 1-2 years of experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word required.
• Proficient use of tablets or electronic forms.
• Excellent oral and written communications.
• Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually.
• Current Driver's License is required for travel to and from field worksites.
• Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs.

Travel: Some occasional local day travel will be required.
