SCHEDULE: 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week), SHIFT:Days with rotating weekends.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, provides clinically competent professionalnursing care.


The Registered Nurse is responsible forpatient assessment, development, implementation and coordination of thepatients' plan of care including the medical treatment plan and the evaluationof patient treatment. The Registered Nurse will function within the full scopeof the RN licensure, according to the California Nursing Practice Act.

The Registered Nurse has primaryaccountability for monitoring patient outcomes. As the team coordinator of thepatient care team (including but not limited to: physicians, registered nurses,licensed vocational nurses, technicians, and support and clerical staff), theRegistered Nurse collaborates, directs, delegates, assigns, guides and servesas a resource to the department and the patient care team for patient caredelivery.

The Registered Nurse promotes a cooperativeworking relationship with care team members, physicians, other disciplines andthe public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty andrespect, displaying sensitivity to cultural and age differences, and expressingand accepting feedback in a professional manner.

Qualifications

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current CaliforniaRegistered Nurse License.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)certification.

Advanced Life Support (ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale) certification as required by specific hiring department criteria.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

A Registered Nurse employed by GSH who has one(1) year of full-time equivalent or more prior experience as a Registered Nurse.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESREQUIRED:

Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient caremanagement system.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Must read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.

Must maintain confidentiality.
