The Miami Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

If yes, then we invite you to join our team as a Career Preparation Program (CPP) Advisor at the Miami Job Corps Center. As a CPP Advisor, you will play a crucial role in helping students navigate their career journeys. You will offer guidance, support, and resources to enable them to make informed decisions about their professional development. Your enthusiasm for career development and strong interpersonal skills will contribute to the overall success of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one career assessments with students to identify their strengths, interests, and career goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized career development plans in collaboration with students, taking into account their skills, aspirations, and market demands.
  • Provide guidance on resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, and professional etiquette.
  • Collaborate with local employers, industry partners, and Job Corps staff to identify job placement and internship opportunities for students.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops and seminars on topics related to career readiness and professional development.
  • Track and monitor the progress of students in the CPP, offering ongoing support and adjustment of plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions, career plans, and job placement outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced degrees preferred. Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.
  • Must possess a valid in-state Driver's License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
