Description:

Reporting to the Manager Patient Access, the Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing, assisting with the billing process for reimbursement of provided services, and assisting with the outpatient registration process.

Work Hours/Shift:
  • Part time 20hrs on evening shift, including Saturdays. Differentials will apply! We offer a full range of benefits for part time!

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Exceptional Patient Care: schedule and confirm patient diagnostic testing appointments and provide testing requirements and instructions to patients;
  • Excellent Communicator: interview patients to obtain and/or complete testing documents, medical case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance forms
  • Technical Familiarity: Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, copiers, fax, and use of computer systems including database entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications
  • Active Teamwork: Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff

Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months customer service experience required
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications and other standard office equipment required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and other support agencies, and strong customer service skills required
