Responsibilities

Wellstar's four-month Certified Medical Assistant Training Program will help you get there. Next Cohort begins July!

Exciting opportunity to take your CNA career to the next level! Wellstar has an immediate opportunity for current CNA's to become Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Trainees. As a CMA Trainee you will be responsible for successfully completing a CMA training program with a Wellstar academic partner or through a Wellstar training program. The CMA Trainee will receive training through classroom (virtual and/or in person) and clinical sessions that will develop skills in communication, interpersonal skills, infection control, safety, preparing patients for examinations, assisting during treatments, and coordinating tests and follow-up care.

Upon successful completion of this program, the CMA Trainee will be prepared to successfully pass a certification exam through an approved medical assisting credentialing body.
Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Minimum Experience: One (1) year of experience in a clinical or administrative front office support role as a CNA (with current certification)

Required Minimum Certification:• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required• Current BLS card from American Heart AssociationRequired Minimum Skills:• Ability to read, write and speak the English language• Clear verbal and written communication• Ability to follow detailed directions• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills• Basic computer skills required; Ability to enter information into an electronic medical record• Ability to work individually and as part of a team• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment• Ability to multi-task essential
