Job Summary:

The Change Order Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of all change orders for the MHS estimating department.

Change orders are delivered to the estimating department via a Change Order Management System. The Change Order Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the system and delegating new change orders to estimators after they are entered into the system by project managers. The Change Order Supervisor also will complete change orders; this is a working supervisor position.

The Change Order Supervisor is also responsible for monitoring and reporting on the volume of change orders received, as needed to level the workload between direct reports and the greater estimating team. The Change Order Supervisor also shall monitor the output of estimators, ensuring that we are meeting our obligations to our downstream customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the parcel industry, either in a project management role, or in a mechanical engineering role.

Responsibilities:

• General oversight of the change order process
• Direct supervision of change order estimators, ensuring timely and quality work, and conducting periodic and year end employee reviews
• Make staffing recommendation based on historical and anticipated future change order volumes
• Work with the project management team when needed to obtain missing details about change order requests
• Make recommendations to the Change Order Management System development team, as needed to streamline functionality and process
• Monitor the volume of change orders received and work with the Estimating Director as needed to delegate workload to the general estimating team when the volume exceeds the capacity of the change order estimating team
• Generate change orders; this is a working supervisor position

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook and Word
• Ability to perform detailed oriented work in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are achieved
• Ability to communicate, both orally and written, at all levels of the business and with customers
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with changing priorities
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of estimators
• Work directly with the Estimating Director on future staffing requirement

Education and Experience:

• Experience in the material handling industry is required
• Experience in project management or mechanical engineering is required
• Prior estimating experience is a plus, but is not required
