Description

Governors State University is seeking to hire an Office Support Assistant for the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Dean's Office. The Office Support Assistant reports to the Business/ Administrative Associate and works under the general supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services to administer office support duties.

Essential Responsibilities

75% Reception Office Support
* Provide in-person reception to Dean's office area as needed.
* Ensuring timely and accurate customer service. Handling complaints and specific customers' requests.
* Provide general office support. Duties include filing electronic documents, sorting mail, maintaining records, providing information, operating basic office machine, updating tracking logs, order copier paper, answering phones, and organizing storage room. Related tasks as assigned.
* Place work orders for technical and facilities support.
* Complete room reservations on 25Live as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and security of office area(s) and provide access to secured storage areas.
* Assist faculty and staff as needed.
* Monitor student worker (general oversight/supervision) one or two days per week.
* Assist with the All-College meeting logistics.

20% Administrative Support for Dean's Staff (one Director and two Coordinators)
* Place room scheduling requests (25Live).
* Process requisitions, vouchers, and invoices.
* Assist with travel requests and reimbursements.
* Assist with the college Recognition Night and Conference.

5% Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Range: $15.00 - $16.92.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Required and Preferred Qualifications

REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent must be attached for consideration for this position. College transcripts may be used if you wish to have them considered to meet the additional minimum qualifications. Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or combination totaling six (6) months from the categories below:
A. College coursework in any curriculum as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
* 15 semester hours equals six (6) months
B. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
* Two (2) years' experience working in an office environment.
* Experience working in an educational setting.
* Experience in customer service.
