Benchmark Human Services is adding the position of Chief Nursing Officer to the leadership team. Since 1960, Benchmark has provided services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and through the years added employment services, behavioral health, home health, case management, crisis programs, along with consulting services. This high profile position will lead clinical outcomes across all service lines.

Responsibilities:

Provide direction, planning and supervision of the overall health services system. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and consistency of health services throughout the organization including residential, crisis, and home health services. Provide joint supervision of the nurses and serve as the leader in regards to health clinical practice standards. Develop and/or update curriculum materials used to train staff on health related issues. Ensure competency of staff conducting health related trainings by providing supervision, training and curriculum. Ensure health related compliance for each state regarding state and federal regulations. Collect and analyze health related quality measures. Provide clinical direction to nurse and staff of specific client cases.

  • Provide supervision of the overall health services system
  • Develop and monitor nursing practice standards for all nursing service lines
  • Promote the mission, vision and corporate values
  • Ensure that health related policies and practices maintain current regulatory, Company, and quality expectations.
  • Participates in the selection process of nurse leadership.
  • Provide clinical supervision of nurse practices and training. Develop and/or update health related training materials. Provide instruction and curricula to the nurses who conduct the trainings. Provide specialized trainings as requested.
  • Conduct bi-monthly nursing meetings in order to provide updated communications regarding changes to systems, regulations, or strategies.
  • Collect and analyze data pertaining to the health and safety of individuals served, health related departmental goals, and other indicators related to quality health services.
  • Act as liaison for pharmacy services. Provide oversight and direction related to pharmacy services in all states.
  • Participate in the Nursing meeting, Director's meeting, Management Rally, Trend Analysis meeting and other meetings as assigned.
  • Establish contacts with community leaders in the health field including Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Vendors, and Health Organizations that could assist with enhancing our knowledge or improving our services.
  • Oversee and maintain a cost-effective company-wide system for ordering of medical supplies.
  • Participate in the Company's compliance initiatives as they relate to health care.
  • Participate in audits, surveys, accreditations or other activities as required.
  • Maintain membership and be actively involved in professional organizations including the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association, Home Health Nurse Association, etc.
  • Provide clinical expertise related to any client health related investigations.
  • Oversee company-wide quarterly client file audits related to health care section.

General Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in nursing with a valid RN license
  • Master Degree in a relevant area of study is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years nursing experience in community based nursing and two years in a supervisory role
  • Membership or agreement to maintain membership in professional nursing associations
  • Valid Driver's License
