This is a newly created and unique role within our organization with the goal of providing superior claims service to our customers. The Claims Supervisor will build a team that will manage the rental process for claimants including approvals, tracking and monitoring of results. In addition, this team will support our outside field appraisal unit and total loss team to better service to our customers. The Supervisor should be able to work both independently and collaborate with all levels of the organization. The Supervisor should possess the ability to communicate and present innovative thoughts and modifications to the current operation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage our rental results across the claims operation
  • Collaborate with field and inside leadership team to implement appropriate workflows and processes to successfully transition rental handling to the team.
  • Work with external rental companies (Hertz, Enterprise, Avis etc...) to leverage their rental and reporting application to integrate with our claim processes.
  • Work with leadership team to implement and streamline our support and processes surrounding field dispatch and total loss handling
  • Leverage technology to improve our current procedures and eliminate manual processes
  • Objectively assess and manage performance.
  • Manage external relationships with other Plymouth Rock companies, agents, vendors and policyholders
  • Continuously analyze results and make recommendations for improvement, with a focus on continuous improvement of day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee annual performance review process.
  • Prepare monthly report of results, activities and plans.
  • Promote teamwork through effective leadership.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Analyze data to determine trends, take corrective measures to improve results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications and Education
  • Three to five years of auto claims experience
  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience preferred but not required
  • A four-year college degree or a combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Analyzing data and tracking results on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Presenting results to upper management and implementing appropriate plans to address areas of improvement
  • The ability to create workflow processes, standard operating principles and training materials.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products (SharePoint, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Tableau Utilization preferred but not required
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience/knowledge in a service center environment beneficial but not required.
